People don’t quit jobs. People quit people.
That is one of the oldest lessons I learned in my career. And when you look back on your career, and the jobs you left, most often it was because of the people and the culture. Workplace culture starts with the office policies and procedures and trickles down to how your staff interacts with external clients and internal staff. While we get excited for the new money we’ll make on a new job, that is the attraction. Do they have the right culture to make you stay? That is retention.
Salary = Attraction
Culture = Retention
