Be in position.
It means to be ready, be alert, be on your toes.
Nothing great happens to us by circumstance. It is only when we are intentional that things happen. Whether it is someone who wins a championship, gets a promotion on the job or even wins the lottery. Oftentimes, there are intentional acts behind their success stories. It’s the extra hours in the gym, the extra hours at work, and even in the case of the lottery, the extra cash and time spent buying tickets and scratching them.
Creating opportunities is not just a self-serving act. Opening the doors for others doesn’t just happen either, you have to make that happen. Just as you can be intentional and create opportunities for yourself, you can be intentional and create opportunities for others.
Sometimes we just happen to be in the right place at the right time, but guess what…that’s intentional too. Being in the right place at the right time simply means you are reaping tangential benefits from an unrelated act. And that unrelated act, which you created, results in opportunities regardless of whether you anticipated them or not.
“Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.”
