Just before I started writing this, I got a CNN news alert that read, “SpaceX CEO Elon Musk intends to send two passengers to the moon by late 2018”.
Yea…that moon!!!
Elon Musk is the co-founder of PayPal that was sold to eBay for $1.5 billion. He is the Founder & CEO of Space Exploration Technologies Corp., and most people recognize him as the CEO of Tesla. Tesla has a market share of o.3% in the automobile industry, but the company is valued more than Nissan! Investors love him, and he is one of the most successful people in the world today.
When you read up on him, and the things he is working on or has plans for, you can easily categorize him as ignorant and confident. We call him ignorant because he is thinking of things that no one believes will ever happen. We call him confident, because he believes he can do what no one believes will ever happen.
For you to be successful, sometimes you have to be naive to the point that only you can make sense of it. But then you need to turn that naiveté into practical steps for accomplishment. Once you’ve got those steps in order, it will give you the required confidence you need to sell someone on your idea.
“All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence; then success is sure.”
