Everyone has a “go-to” outfit.
An outfit that when you put it on, speaks for who you are without having to say anything.
For some, it’s sweatsuits and sneakers. For others, it’s denim and hoodies. For me, I have a few “go-to” outfits in my closet for each season, and for the fall/winter season mine is a flannel shirt, puffer vest, denim/chino/corduroy pants and boots. This combo is universal because it’s not too dressy and not too casual. You can wear this anywhere without feeling too over-dressed or under-dressed. It’s also versatile, because you can interchange pieces and it gives this outfit a completely different look.

– Lauren Hutton
Let me give you some more details on this outfit.

My pants are slim fit corduroy pants with GapFlex, and I got them at a Gap Outlet store for $17. My shirt is part of the untucked shirt trend, and comes from Banana Republic – it cost me $35. My vest is a light puffer vest that I purchased from Zara for $35, and my boots are from Aldo and cost me $67.
“Create your own visual style… Let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others.”
– Orson Welles
While keeping the vest as a staple, you can swap the flannel shirt for a sweatshirt or hoodie and trade your boots for sneakers. If you want to keep the boots, you can put on a turtleneck sweater instead of the flannel shirt. You can get more relaxed and remove the vest, and just rock your flannel shirt and denim/chino/corduroy pants. No matter what option you choose, you can throw on sneakers or boots and this outfit still works. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving.
